Hand picked and sorted to ensure perfect fruit reaches the fermenter. A combination of whole berry fermentation and whole bunches. Pressed after 16 days on skins. Matured on fine lees in new and used casks for 8 months.
Bright, medium red. Exotic dark fruits, spice and flowers.
Located at Woori Yallock in the upper reaches of the Yarra Valley. Extraordinary north facing De Bortoli family owned vineyard. Planted in 1985, close vine spacing, lots of manual work in the vines, deep red basalt soils. Typically produces fine, aromatic and charming Pinot Noir.

"Blocks B, E & F. There’s a decadence about this wine. It’s rich and ripe ?€“ not too much, as it has a coolness of its Upper Yarra site ?€“ but more in the depth and how it feels. All the usual and pleasing flavours are pressed together, then expand across the fuller-bodied palate. Lovely smooth tannins and the finish lingers long.

"Another unquestionably committed De Bortoli Pinot Noir. The Riorret Lusatia Park Pinot Noir 2019 has this brooding darkness to it (which marks some 2019 Yarra Pinot releases), with a lifted but hardly open nose of dark fruit. Its is no strawberry bomb. There’s this inviting cherry flourish but then it all gets more gruff, secondary and beefier with a mushroom soup thickness starting to grab at the pretty cherry and strawberry lolly fruit. Damn, this is uncompromising in its Pinosity ?“ admirable, if not seductive.

“Deep in colour and dense in flavour, the 2019 Riorret Lusatia Park Pinot Noir is opulent and rich by a Yarra measure and shows mulberries, blood plums and poached raspberries alongside the usual splay of cherries, orange zest and spice.
4 1/2 Stars - Rick Allen, Newcastle Herald Drinks - Riorret (Terroir spelt backwards) is part of a 200 dozen limited release. Unashamedly rich, dark and opulent. It's extroverted but no denying those pinot flavours.
92 Point Rated Huon Hooke, The Real Review
"Deep, rich colour with the faintest trace of purple lingering and the bouquet starting to show development in its sappy, raspberry-bush, briary and charred-meat aromas. It's a trifle jammy, though. The palate has a slight metallic/steely feel with prominent acidity and tending dry-red-ish. It's probably drinking at or close to its peak.
91 Point Rated Winestate Magazine
"Obvious aged notes to the meaty nose with an early savoury palate.
