Tasting Notes:

The wine has lifted aromas of spice, dark cherry and plums, with a rich, full-flavoured palate of forest fruits and vanilla, finishing with soft tannins and excellent length. It tastes great now so there is no need to cellar

Technical:

Selected parcels from premium vineyards throughout McLaren Vale, taking advantage of various soil types and micro-climates. The fruit was vinified using a combination of fermentation styles and French oak to highlight the regional characteristics.

"The trend to the use of lighter bottles is seen with this thoroughly enjoyable McLaren Vale Shiraz. French oak was one of the varying fermentation vessels used by the team here. A deep maroon hue, the nose gives us plums, blackcurrants, soy and licorice. There is a pleasant dusting of cocoa powder and the palate sees more of a move to bay leaves and roast meats. Good grip and length, there are chewy tannins. Ideally, leave it for a year or two and then drink over the following eight to ten years. Good value."
