1x Eileen Hardy McLaren Vale Shiraz 2019 - 14.30% Alc
Complex aromas of blackberry, plum and blueberry with musk, chocolate and subtle notes of fresh tilled earth and aniseed. The palate is layered and complex with a plethora of incredibly fine and soft tannins offering an exceptionally persistent finish.
1x Viking Odins Honour Barossa Valley Shiraz 2019 - 14.50% Alc
Dark crimson red with dark black core. Rich earthy characters with an abundance of black fruit followed by hints of chocolate, licorice, leather, black pepper and oak. This is a big traditional style of Shiraz, which we recommend is decanted and allowed to breathe prior to consuming. Black fruits are at the forefront here and an earthy character reflecting its age is also evident although freshness from the fruit and natural acid highlights its ability to age further with ease. The oak and tannin melt into the fruit and some more subtle hints of leather and just a touch of black pepper create further complexity.
1x Jackman Vineyards Estate Range Barossa Valley Shiraz 2021 - 15.00% Alc
Medium bodied fruit forward Barossa valley Shiraz, blackberry, plum fruits dominate the palate whilst fruitcake, summer berries and floral all play pivotal roles. Fine tannins, oak and fruit provide the backbone.
1x Bayliss Road Single Vineyard McLaren Vale Shiraz 2023 - 14.80% Alc
Big round palate dark fruit of blackberry and plum dominant with olive and licorice undertones. Oak spice provides drive and length whilst silky smooth tannins round everything together perfectly.
1x Normans Peacock McLaren Vale Shiraz Cabernet 2016 - 15.00% Alc
Deep dark red colour, the bouquet of dark fruit and dried herbs and earth on the nose with hints of mocha and chocolate. The palate is full of soft dark fruit flavours when allowed to breathe, there is a natural earth character to the wine reminiscent of a Southern Rhone style blend. Blackberry, and blackcurrant in highly concentrated amounts, dark plum, liquorice all provide an opulent yet not overpowering feel. Spicy vanillin cedar, subtle earthy tobacco character and a touch of pepper.
1x Mount Langi Ghiran Cliff Edge Shiraz 2021 - 14.50% Alc
Red and black cherries, ripe raspberry, boysenberry and a lick of baking spice. Morello cherry, blackberries and raspberries along with a mix of cloves, cardamom and white pepper. Fine tannins and an understated length provided by a delicate acid line.
1x Crown & Anchor McLaren Vale Shiraz 2023 - 14.80% Alc
Full flavoured with black and blue fruits, violets, olives, plum and oak. Lovely length and structure with flavours of mulberry, blueberry, olive, and chocolate. Bright, lush full flavoured wine which is brilliantly balanced with spice and tannin. Generous and voluptuous depth of oak with silk like finish.
1x O'Keefe Trail Grand Reserve Heathcote Shiraz 2015 - 14.50% Alc
The palate is densely layered, its long, textured and richly full bodied. Blackberry and cherry with forest floor almost earthy like characters. Well-structured its a powerful wine with epic length and fine tannins.
1x Monolith Vintners Monolithic Old Vine Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon 2019 - 14.50% Alc
A massive intense and enticing nose, the initial hit of exotic fruit once allowed to breathe will mellow. Black berry and dark cherry are the dominant character whilst varietal character of cassis is also very evident. The French oak influence is still evident despite its age and highlights the quality of the new large format oak used. Concentrated, tremendous texture and depth are hallmarks of this wine. The great richness which comes from black fruits flavours is immense, brooding and dense. The age of the wine is evident through notes of earth and leather saddle although the fruit is just so potent that they are just a side show. This style of wine requires decanting and time to breathe to soften prior to consuming although will be cellared prior to release the wine has the fruit, alcohol and tannin structure to ensure cellaring for many more years where it will continue to evolve.
1x Kelly's Promise Reserve McLaren Vale Shiraz 2016 - 14.50% Alc

Polished and rounded the mid palate has considerable weight with black fruit flavours, cassis, violets, olives, spice, game meat, tannin and oak notes. Muscular and powerful in its youth ensuring longevity. Drinking well as an aged release 4 years post vintage and will continue to drink well into the next decade post release to circa 2030 and beyond.

96 Point Rated - Stuart Knox The Real Review
"Ink black core into a deeply-staining purple rim. Plums, meat, and lavender flowers explode form the glass, whilst the palate sits rich, deep and all encompassing. There's a serious intensity of fruit that is backed up with layers of meat and smoky complexity and ample fine-grained tannins to keep everything focused and carrying incredible length. An excellent wine that has both power and poise"
95 Point Rated - Ned Goodwin James Halliday Wine Companion
"A confluence of fruit planted in 1892 in Upper Tintara, together with McLaren Flat sourcing from the Elliot site, much of which is 57 years old. Fermented wild in open-tops before maturation in French oak (25% new) for 17 months. Powerful and heady, yet taut, spicy and introverted. White pepper and clove serve up first impressions. Blueberry, violet and a ferrous meatiness unravel with a workout in the glass. The finish is exceptionally long and detailed, if not drying and in need of time. This should come together very well."
95+ Point Rated - Erin Larkin Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
"This is an old-school, widely collected wine in Australia, with a long history. The 2019 Eileen Hardy Shiraz is from a single place (McLaren Vale), albeit from two different vineyards: Upper Tintara (planted late 1800s) and a vineyard on the McLaren Flat. In the winery, the wine was wild fermented in open-top fermenters and matured in French oak (25% new) for 17 months. This has a sybaritic polish and density to the fruit, which is wholly supported by a firm framework of tannins in the mouth. This tells us how inchoate this wine is at this stage, and that it needs either decanting or patience as it opens up. The tannins through the finish are the key to this wine's success: chalky, instigating and masticating and very fine; they linger and trail over the palate."

Mount Langi Ghiran Cliff Edge Shiraz 2021
94 Point Rated - Campbell Mattinson Halliday Wine Companion
"It's spicy and well fruited but mostly it's an exercise in putting all the various components exactly where they should be. Everything here feels exact, and exacting. Red cherried fruit, black pepper notes, integrated cedar oak and drifts of assorted florals, all of which hone to a long, peppery finish. It's mid-weight at most and it's all it needs to be. This is the kind of wine that gives elegance its good name."
94 Point Rated - Ray Jordan Wine Pilot
"Beautiful, perfumed aromas greet from the start, cherry and dark plum with a spicy raspberry nuance. The palate is medium bodied and elegantly presented with those cherries and blackberry flavours emerging with a little sprinkle of pepper and dried herbs. The oak is well-weighted with the fine chalky tannins in support."
93 Point Rated - Gary Walsh The Wine Front
"Quite the dramatic name, is Cliff Edge. Could also be the name of an Australian private eye, and I’m something of a huge fan of the Cliff Hardy novels by Peter Corris. Anyway, that aside, average age of vines is now 25 years, and it gets 30% new French oak.Black cherry, raspberry, five spice, a little cedar oak. It’s medium to full-bodied, with plenty of cherry and forest berry fruit flavour, a fine dusty/peppery feel to tannin, quite fresh, with maybe something a little more savoury in the aftertaste, like black olive. The length is good also. It’s a good Cliff Edge, and also a rock solid expression of regional Shiraz."
92 Point Rated - Erin Larkin Robert Parker Wine Advocate
"The 2021 Shiraz Cliff Edge is rocky and purple on the nose with crushed granite, blackberry, white pepper and raspberry compote. Not hugely complex, but it is hugely satisfying. This is a concentrated, cool-climate Shiraz. It's a great (super) value at around $30 AUD. 14.5% alcohol, sealed under screw cap."
