Technical:

Woodside Park’s Estate Vineyard at Woodside was planted in 2000. The vineyard consistently produces outstanding fruit with great concentration and purity. All grapes are hand-picked. The soils are sandy loam over red podzolic clay and schist / quartz base . An average altitude 420 metres and an annual rainfall in the vicinity of 800mm ensure a truly cool climate environment. Whilst new technologies have been embraced, the vineyard is softly farmed with a multitude of environmental and sustainable wine growing practices key to our farming philosophy.

2013 was a terrific vintage for the hills compared to rest of the years. With a warm start to spring the vines jumped into life in the third week of spring and never looked back. A good dry Summer with vintage flowing beautifully. The fruit ripening gracefully over last few weeks, a rain free harvest. Hand picked and wild fermented. Champagne clone picked for strawberry flavours and French clone picked for cherry. 10% whole bunch, open top fermenter. 100% French oak barrels used for maturation.
