The Estate saw an early and successful harvest in 2024 with yields down but quality very good to exceptional. This rosy picture is no better painted than with our much-anticipated Grenache Mourvèdre Rosé with its bright and colourful splashes of red berry, musk and rose blossom hints. Deliciously dry and textural. A wine for the here and now … embrace its youthful delights. Grenache 68% | Mourvedre 32%
Located in the Nagambie Lakes region of central Victoria and with a history dating back to the 1860's, Tahbilk has long been considered one of Australia's most historic family owned wineries. In recent years Tahbilk's Grenache Mourvèdre Rosé has established itself as one of Australia's best value Rosés and has quickly become a 'go-to' for many Rosé drinkers. Inspired by the great example of Provence, this 2020 Tahbilk Rosé is made from a blend of 59% Grenache and 41% Mourvèdre; delivering a dry, vibrant wine of enormous appeal. Lovely aromas of musk, spice and rose blossom lead to a palate bursting with red berry fruits and nice savoury undertones. Another delicious offering from Tahbilk that offers incredible value at this discounted price.
Drawing on Estate plantings of Grenache and Mourvedre the fruit is picked early to retain freshness and delicacy, with the grapes crushed and pressed with as little oxygen contact as possible to preserve the fresh fruit characters. A technique favoured in Provence is then used to increase texture and mouthfeel, by mixing the cold juice (including the pulp and solids) with nitrogen gas briefly each day over four days. The wine is then racked to produce clear juice and fermented with a specific Rosé yeast at 10/14 degrees for 2 weeks prior to being filtered and bottled.
