"Deep colour with a trace of purple lingering on the rim. The bouquet is rather quiet and reserved but pleasantly red-fruited and faintly stemmy-herbal, with an emerging note of chocolate. The wine is medium to full-bodied and has plenty of stuffing, if not especially varietal, but it has the makings of a very good pinot and will probably show more character with another year or two under its belt. There is richness and concentration here and the texture is beguilingly smooth, with lots of supple tannins."

"Matured 12 months in new and used French oak. Great to see Victorian winemakers getting on board the Hunter Valley tradition of blending pinot noir and shiraz. The odd couple are fantastic together. Mix of dry Aussie bush, briar scents , plums and dark cherries. Juicy and fleshy, shiraz tannins steer the palate towards a firm finish. Good drinking now."
