Tasting Notes:

Dark chocolate, mocha, plum with caramel lift. Sweet spice and cacao nib. Although serious Shiraz black fruits show the layers are extended with earth and vanilla. The tannins are firm but fine, with a full weight and texture carrying liquorice, black spice and some juniper. Full with intense flavours, the wine carries through for an intensely long finish

Technical:

The Grant Burge Wines Filsell vineyard of near century old vines is considered one of the best vineyards in the Barossa Valley, and consistently produces fruit of incredible intensity and concentration. Planted in 1920, the vineyard also produces some of the fruit for the highly acclaimed Meshach Shiraz, making the Filsell Shiraz a sought-after younger brother to loyal followers.

Accolades & Awards:

95 Point Rated - Ray Jordan Winepilot

"This is pure Barossa Shiraz. Colour is dense and dark with faint crimson hues. Earthy plum aromas with a little licorice and brick dust. There is plenty of weight on the palate which is supported with well managed oak. Whilst a slightly grainy texture provides a nice mouthfeel."

96 Point Rated - Huon Hooke The Real Review

"Very deep, dark, concentrated colour, opaque; there’s concentrated black fruits, spice and licorice aromas with generous charred oak skilfully entwined. The wine is full-bodied and rich, deep and powerful, and promises to cellar superbly."
