Tasting Notes:

The Bethany First Village Shiraz 2022 boasts a deep, dark black/purple colour with purple highlights. Notes of dense dark berry fruits, cherries, and blackberries dominate the aroma, accompanied by hints of sandy earth, cayenne spice, and dark chocolate. On the palate, the wine is voluptuous and well-balanced, with strong drive and structure. The intense cherry and berry flavours burst forward and linger throughout the full length of the palate, leaving behind a satisfying coating of dark cacao chocolate fruit and texture. Finely-grained, silky tannins provide a solid framework for the wine, giving it shape, length, and structure. Overall, this is an elegant wine with impressive power and length, and a subtle finish enhanced by notes of cinnamon and oak.

Technical:

Parcels of fruit were harvested and fermented separately prior to being put to oak hogsheads for maturation. The final blend was composed out of barrel with the wine then given time in stainless steel to come together prior to bottling.

Accolades & Awards:

92 Point Rated, Dave Brookes Halliday Wine Companion

"Bright crimson with fruit tones of lifted red plum, mulberry and forest berries with touches of milk chocolate, baking spices, panforte, cherry clafoutis and earth. It makes for good value, mid-weighted drinking with a fine, sandy tannin grip and a flourish of red fruits on the exit."
