Technical:

The Wines are about fruit and vineyard expression. We aim for mouthfeel and drinkability without high alcohol. Picked early for lower alcohol by nature and to enhance drinkability and longevity. The key point to Pinot Gris is mid palate texture and richness. We work this in the winery by allowing the juice to stay on full solids for a week before starting the ferment. With cooler weather patterns in play, we had a slower start to the 2024 growing season. By the time we were picking it was 3-4 weeks later than the pervious year. Luckily, we had a long and dry Autumn so we could wait for the fruit to hang out and ripen evenly. The results were beautifully flavoured grapes and subsequently wines. Flavours are full of limey, brioche pear goodness. A beautiful vintage and this Pinot Gris is a standout.
