Georges Exile Clare Valley Riesling 2014

Georges Wines was born in 2003 with the acquisition of the “Springwood” vineyard located in the renowned Armagh Valley situated in the Clare Valley wine region. Incoming operator Nick George saw the potential of the fruit, and the opportunity to develop a premium boutique brand. Armagh is a small historic village in the western Clare Valley, about 137 km north of Adelaide, South Australia. The vineyards are managed to be low yielding, fruit is “Dry Grown”, intensity of fruit flavours are maintained by low cropping levels

Classic Clare Valley Riesling 2015 Cleanskin

Picked in late February the fruit was machine harvested in the early morning whilst temperatures were cool. After crushing, we fermented with the use of a yeast culture at controlled temperatures in stainless steel to ensure fruit vibrancy. We selected individual parcels to be bottled immediately to retain the natural fruit and acid balance produced. Drinking well now although will cellar well for six or so years for those who like Riesling with a little age to develop more oily character.

Gotham Clare Valley Riesling 2015

A cooler start to the growing season was followed by a warm and very dry start to vintage. While fruit ripened quickly, it maintained good natural acid and sugar levels, producing balanced wines that have retained their primary fruit flavours.

Olssen of Watervale Clare Valley Riesling 2015

Fruit for the 2015 Watervale Riesling was again sourced from a small vineyard a couple of minutes outside of the township of Watervale. Picking occurred in the second and third weeks of February, in the cool of night. To avoid skin contact, the grapes were pressed then the Clarified juice was fermented. Each batch of fruit was handled separately until the final assemblage, where we selected the very best components for inclusion in the 2015 blend.
