Pale straw with a lively fine bead. Aromas of crisp Granny Smith apple and citrus. A lively palate of crunchy green apple and lemon with hints of toasted biscuit. Richness and complexity in its youth thanks to delicate aldehydic layering.
Josef Chromy OAM has been instrumental to the Tasmanian food and wine industry, having owned and developed some of Tasmania’s leading wineries including Rochecombe (now Bay of Fires), Jansz, Heemskerk and Tamar Ridge. At 76, when most people would be thinking about easing up, Joe launched Josef Chromy Wines in December 2007. In just over 4 years, Josef Chromy Wines made an impressive impact on the Australian Wine industry. Through the hard work of many, Josef Chromy Wines built sales of 28,000 cases in a profitable and sustainable manner. In a very short period, Josef Chromy Wines amassed 14 trophies and 170 medals, making it one of the most successful launches in the history of the Tasmanian Wine Industry. Coming from arguably Australia's best sparkling State, Tasmania.
92 Point Rated Tyson Stelzer Halliday Wine Companion
58/42% pinot noir/chardonnay from Northern Tasmania. Base wine from the '18 vintage. No mlf, matured 18 months on lees. Méthode traditionnelle. Long a master of still wines of the upper Tamar, Jeremy Dineen's current set of sparklings cement his place in the A-league of fizz, and his estate NV confirms it. Emblazoned with a new label as classy as its refined and characterful contents, it's confidently led by pinot noir (ever the hero of this estate). Generous cherry, raspberry, strawberry and fig are backed by luscious layers of brioche, gingernut biscuit and spice. The creamy texture of 18 months lees age is perfectly juxtaposed by malic tension. Long, delicious and great value.
Highly Rated - Huon Hooke The Real Review
Light to mid-straw colour with a tinge of rose-gold. Straw and pressed linen aromas, the palate is light and piercing, bright acidity driving it along, with delicate, restrained flavour, youthful and not very complex, the liqueur level is moderate and the follow-through is clean and appetising.
