The grapes for this wine are carefully destemmed and crushed to fermenters where the grapes are macerated in a way to minimise extraction of hard tannin, while providing rich and generous fruit. This is achieved with less vigorous pump overs and lower fermentation temperatures. Maturation then takes place with oak before blending and bottling. Matured for 9 months in a selection of French, Hungarian and American oak.

"Dense inky black colour with a deep dark red black tinged hue. Soaring out of the glass are liquorice, dark plum and black cherry scents which are interwoven with smoky vanillin cedar, fennel and peppered earth notes. Rich opulent liquorice, dark plum and black cherry fruits completely engulf the mouth. Smoky vanillin cedar, earthy fennel and black pepper characters lend further nuance. Deep and powerful it possesses velvety tannins and finishes long and sumptuous. A very seductive Barossa Shiraz."
