Tasting Notes:

Rich dark red in colour with a dark purple rim. The nose shows rich concentrated Blue and Black fruits, dark chocolate and hints mocha and savoury oak notes. The palate is rich and plush with good structure. There are concentrated layers of blue and black berry fruits blended in with balanced oak. Fine velvety tannins give length and power while finishing soft and full of flavour.

Since its release Pepperjack Shiraz has become Australia’s Number 1 red wine by value and it’s Cabernet Sauvignon is Australia’s Number 1 Cabernet Sauvignon priced $19 and above. Pepperjack is a tribute to the Barossa's rich heritage. The winemaking team has respect for traditional winemaking techniques and is also dynamic and imaginative. The Pepperjack winemakers are conscious of modern wine styles, and are creating wines that reflect their passion for this special region. The Pepperjack wines are rich and honest - showcasing the Barossa's outstanding qualities.

Just as different steak cuts have different flavour, texture and appeal - so do different Shiraz wines. The Pepperjack Graded Collection showcases two different styles of Shiraz, created by our winemaker to perfectly match two of his favourite cuts of steak: Scotch Fillet and Porterhouse.

"Excellent dark purple hue. A mix of ripe black fruit, plums, licorice plus a generous lick of oak via brown spices, toast and vanilla. Crunchy, chalky tannins keep the fruit in check, plus hand out a savoury finish. The wide appeal for these wines is easy to see, but it's the craft that goes into them that sets them apart from many others."
