Tasting Notes:

Intense blackcurrant and raspberry flavours are apparent across the palate with black olive, leather, mint and violet showing too. In the background there are notes of coffee bean and toasted vanillin oak. The 2021. Tintara Cabernet Sauvignon is a full-bodied wine full of rich varietal flavours. The palate displays lush blackcurrant and plums accompanied by chocolate, tobacco leaf and aniseed. The wine is softly textured with a complex balance that finishes with lingering seamless tannins.

Technical:

Winter rainfalls were slightly below average for McLaren Vale while spring and Summer continued to be dry. Heat spikes in January preceded a warm and dry harvest period however temperatures rarely exceed the low 30’s. Diligent vineyard management and strong vine architecture allowed fruit to achieve desirable sugar and flavour levels with very low disease pressure.
