We are excited to introduce the first-ever FU 2024 Barossa Valley Pinot Noir, a proud new addition to the FU Wines portfolio. True to the high-quality craftsmanship of FU's renowned Shiraz, this Pinot Noir is crafted with the same attention to detail but stands out with its lighter, more refined profile. This inaugural release captivates with its clarity and depth, presenting classic Pinot Noir characteristics. The nose is a delightful bouquet of ripe cherries and fresh strawberries, intertwined with subtle earthy undertones and a whisper of floral notes, hinting at violets. On the palate, the wine offers a silky texture with Flavors of red berries and a nuanced complexity of spice—think hints of cinnamon and clove. This wine showcases the varietal's hallmark grace and agility, and while it is crafted in the shadow of FU's bolder Shiraz, it promises a unique finesse that will entice both new enthusiasts and seasoned connoisseurs. With its debut, FU 2024 Barossa Valley Pinot Noir sets a new standard for elegance in the FU lineup, promising to evolve beautifully in the bottle over the coming years. A little lighter FU.
Sourced from a single vineyard in the Barossa Valley, located next to Turkey Flat where some of the oldest vines in Australia are located. The vintage delivered perfectly ripened fruit, which facilitated the selective harvest of specific fruit parcels crucial for sculpting the wine's profile in both vineyard and winery.
Following natural fermentation with native yeasts in seasoned vats and gentle post-maceration pressing, the wine undergoes a brief 6-month maturation in new oak barrels. Here, it completes malolactic fermentation, enhancing its complexity without the usual extended aging, thus retaining a fresher, more vibrant character. A meticulous selection from these barrels precedes a minimal filtration process, preparing the wine for bottling. Designed to age gracefully, this Pinot Noir is expected to develop and thrive in the cellar, enhancing its character over the next 15 years or more.
