Tasting Notes:

Bright, vibrant red. Lifted, fresh cut strawberry and Morello cherries gives way to subtle and complex spice from whole bunch inclusion and quality French oak. The entry is gently sweet, then, aided by balanced natural acidity, strawberry seed tannin carries the palate to a point. Structure is light, yet with interest, cherries and spice are on feature. Its delicate shape, and carefully considered use of whole bunches and French oak revolve around purity of fruit. It is poised and balanced, true to style.

Technical:
The 2022 Vintage in Tasmania was not without its challenges, with vast differences in the behaviours of each of the sub-regions. A long and wet winter and following spring led to a slow ripening season with small yields. The Derwent and Coal River Valleys both experienced relatively cool and slow ripening seasons, producing excellent quality fruit that arrived very late in the season, picked at relatively high Baumes to manage the high acid retention. The outcome of this tricky season is bright and intensely concentrated wines with complex flavour, ripe structure and lovely mid palate weight.
Accolades & Awards:

93 Point Rated, Dave Brookes Halliday Wine Companion

"Light, bright ruby with lifted aromas of raspberry, red cherry and cranberry underlined with hints of exotic spice, amaro herbs, leaf litter, Chinese barbecue joint, pressed wildflowers and the chimera of game. Airy and spacious with a gamey edge to the sweep of morello cherries on the palate, tannins fine and ripe suffusing through the fruit and some nice tension between fruit and acidity on the sapid finish. Lovely."
