Tasting Notes:

Intense ruby with fire brick red hues. Characters of spice and strawberry enchant the palate. Combining a soft tannin frame with forest floor textures adding to the fruit provides a balanced mouth filling and flavoursome wine. Hints of strawberry and earthy mushroom aromas make this the perfect match for cured meats, duck, mushroom risotto.

Technical:

Fruit parcels individually selected by the winemaker who then constantly monitoring to maximise thefruit flavour. Fruit was harvested by both hand and machine. A variety of techniques including cold maceration, inclusion of whole bunches and warm fermentation temperatures with gentle tannin extraction were used to add layers of flavours in this wine. 2013 saw low rainfall in Spring with January being quite dry and warm. The dry weather allowed fruit to reach optimum ripeness providing a good balance of acidity and flavour. Some light showers in late February to help freshen the fruit with vintage starting later than usual but finishing quickly by the end of March.
