Tasting Notes:

This Shiraz offers beautifully complex aromas of raspberries, cherries, pink peppercorns and spearmint. The palate is rich and velvety with dark plums and savoury spice notes of cloves and cumin. This easy drinking Adelaide Hills Shiraz is a food friendly and well-balanced wine. 

Technical:

Geoff’s love of cool climate Shiraz has led to the re-release of his original Adelaide Hills label. Budburst was slightly later than usual and a dryer spring lead to low disease pressure and effective pollination during flowering leading to above average crop levels. The dry conditions continued through much of the summer ensuring healthy vines and allowing the grapes to fully ripen and develop fantastic intensity. All in all, a brilliant vintage.

The wine offers wonderful purity and harmony, as well as generosity and rich fruit intensity, exhibiting blackberry, mocha, black tea and toasted almond characters on the nose, followed by a sumptuous palate that is plump and velvety. It is stylish and flattering at the same time, and finishes superbly long and engaging


92 Points & 4 Stars Huon Hooke 

Deep red/purple colour with a subdued and slightly herbal and floral aroma, with some suggestion of stemmy whole-bunch ferment. The wine is medium to full-bodied and intense in the mouth, with quite delicious flavours and firm tannins to finish. Spicy, charming cool-grown shiraz. A very tasty and quite elegant wine.
