Bottle Top: Stelvin
Alcohol Content: 13.50

Tasting Notes:

This wine is layered and complex with red berry and darker fruit aromas. These characters continue onto the palate, with fruit layers supported by fine oak tannin and lively berry persistence. After a period of cellaring, it is normal for some sediment to form; decanting one - two hours prior to drinking is recommended. Enjoyed in its youth, or cellar for 10-20 years.

Technical:

Bleasdale Vineyards is Langhorne Creek’s founding winery and Australia’s second oldest family-owned and operated winery, established in 1850 by English migrant Frank Potts, who arrived in South Australia on the Buffalo in 1836.  The vineyards are situated on the flood plains of the Bremer river. Frank Potts left behind him a wonderful legacy that continues today.  His sons and grandsons have operated and built up the winery, and Bleasdale is solely owned and operated by fourth- and fifth-generation members of the Potts family.

Accolades & Awards:

96 Point Rated - Campbell Mattinson James Halliday Wine Companion

"Cabernet sauvignon (72%), malbec (18%), petit verdot (6%) and merlot (4%), aged for 12 months in French oak, 25% new. Salt and pepper, blueberry and blackcurrant, cloves and minerally/ferrous characters. This is a seriously good wine. It's characterful, balanced, lengthy and interesting, its dark-berried fruit flavours sunk deep into the palate, its freshness maintained, and its finish as convincing as everything that came before."
