Tasting Notes:

This Shiraz delivers notes of dark-fruits paired with rich red-berry concentrates. Touches of subtle oak and hints of pepper spice complete the palate, for a textured and layered finish.

Technical:

The grapes were lightly crushed with a percentage of whole berries present in the fermenter, extending the fermentation time and adding complexity to the wines. After 10-15 days on skins the must is transferred via gravity to a bag press and then gently pressed. The pressing are combined back with the free run juice as the extra ripe tannins of the pressing adds structure, length and complexity to the wines. After pressing, the wines complete fermentation and malo-lactic fermentation in tank before being transferred to mix of French and American oak barrels and hogsheads for maturation. After 18 months of maturation in oak the individual barrels are each tasted and blended before bottling.

Accolades & Awards:

95 Point Rated - Sam Kim Wine Orbit

"Wonderfully ripe and enticing, the wine shows blackberry, cake spice, cedar, game and dark chocolate aromas on the nose, leading to a concentrated palate displaying plump mouthfeel backed by layers of silky tannins, finishing long and opulent. At its best: now to 2040"

93 Point Rated - Ken Gargett Winepilot

"From a single vineyard in Coonawarra, and a top vintage, the colour here is a near black hue. It is a ripe and chocolatey style with notes of black olives, cloves, blackberries, plums and of course, chocolate. There is good focus throughout, through to fine, sleek tannins. Good balance and terrific persistence. This is delicious drinking now and surely at least over the next six to eight years."
