Knappstein Clare Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2019
The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon has aromas of juicy blackcurrants, dark chocolate and mint, accented by savoury notes of tobacco leaf. The palate is elegantly structured with classic flavours of chocolate and bay leaf, flowing through to ripe blackberries and fresh thyme to finish.
Knappstein Clare Valley Shiraz 2019
The 2019 Shiraz is full of brambles and blue/black fruits with a spicy lift. Layers of brooding dark fruits, spice and savoury characters are framed in fine oak. The sinewy tannin profile pulls the wine through to a long and moreish finish.
Shanahans Silence Is Golden Barossa Valley Shiraz 2019
Lavish nose showing profound notes of blood plum, mulberries and underlying tones of black pepper, earth and elegant oak.
Voluptuous, opulent and yet refined are the trademarks of Silence is Golden. This year the vintage produced perfect fruit with a great level of intensity. Highly concentrated featuring alluring flavours of blackcurrant, plum, dark cherry, cassis with velvety smooth tannins and the slightest touch of acidity. Wonderfully integrated oak ensuring great intensity, length and cellaring potential.

Raptor Bird Of Prey Great Western Shiraz 2021

Knappstein Clare Valley Shiraz 2019
A long dry growing season lead to an early start to vintage. Above average temperatures lead to optimum flavour and tannin development in all red varieties. Quality is excellent.
Fruit is grown on our Yertabulti and Provis vineyards, situated at the northern end of the Clare Valley, this is the perfect climate for maturing our premium red grapes.
Shanahans Silence Is Golden Barossa Valley Shiraz 2019
Sourced from three blocks in the western Barossa Valley, from vines aged up to 64 years. The 2019 vintage is another standout vintage and one I would say is well suited to the style of wine I enjoy to drink and craft. The timing of picking was critical to ensure wines did not become over ripe therefore we carefully watched and picked based on berry ripeness not just Baume. The Shiraz grapes were selected based on flavour profile to ensure consistency of style. The grapes were handpicked and delivered to the winery and gently worked through the de-stemmer before being transferred to an open fermenter with 20% whole berries. The juice is pumped over twice a day for seven days before draining and loading the basket press. The skins are then gently pressed for approximately 20 hours to retrieve more of the essence of the grape. After the wine has completed its malolactic ferment, it is matured in 23% new and 77% older American and French oak barrels for 18 months prior to bottling with minimal fining or filtration.
Pertaringa Over The Top McLaren Vale Shiraz 2019
Acknowledging the very best site, climate, vines, and production techniques, this Shiraz is named Over the Top to proudly declare our aim to make the finest wine we possibly can. The 2019 growing season started with mild weather and below-average rainfall. Some late spring rain provided a bit of relief from the dry conditions. A heatwave in January was luckily too early in the ripening cycle to cause any damage to the fruit. This was followed by a very mild and dry finish to the vintage, allowing good hang time and flavour development to the smaller than average crop.
McGuigan Personal Reserve Hunter Valley Shiraz 2010
The fruit for this wine was sourced from the Bainton Vineyard in the subregion of Broke. This is a dry grown (unirrigated) Vineyard which accesses water supply from a subterranean water table. The resultant fruit provides highly concentrated flavours. Cool conditions throughout most of the growing season were coupled with dry hot conditions at the tail end of the season. At harvest due to low crop loads the grapes had excellent varietal and regional characteristics as well as a very dense colour hue. This wine is atraditional style Shiraz with minimal oak influence and has an enormous aging potential.
The Colonial Estate Emigre Shiraz 2021
Sourced from two vineyards in the Northern Barossa Valley sub region – the Moppa and near the Kalimna Vineyard, which is the mother vineyard of “Grange”. The vines themselves are aged between 49 and 80 year sold and they are cropped, using green harvesting, at less than 3.0 tonne to the acre. Grapes were picked at dawn, it receives fermentation, which is conducted in small open top fermenters, followed by malolactic fermentation and ageing in 100 per cent new French oak barrels.
Raptor Bird Of Prey Great Western Shiraz 2021
Sourced from premium vineyards located in Great Western which forms part of the Grampians wine region one of Australia’s most highly regarded and oldest grape growing regions. Hand selected fruit was picked and transported to the winery for crushing and fermentation on skins. We kept each parcel separate from each load picked to enable blending options with differing characters. The use of new oak was used to infiltrate the wine over 12 months and bring the highly concentrated fruit flavour into balance. Will drink well now although will age well and develop more complexity over the next 10 years.

98 Points & 5 Stars, Winestate Magazine
An intense crimson hued wine that is very youthful with many years ahead of it yet. It exhibits great depth, concentration and vibrancy of varietal fruit richness.

Well. This is a beauty. So much fruit, tannin and oak but in such overall balance. Blackcurrant and toast, peppermint cream and dried herbs, chocolate. Swoosh. It’s big, it’s creamy and it’s tannic but it has energy. Bowled me over a bit, this one. Belter of a Clare Valley cabernet.

Upfront and immediately appealing, the wine shows Black Doris plum, floral, almond and olive characters with a light touch of pepper spice. It's juicy and beautifully rounded on the palate offering generous mouthfeel and a lengthy silky finish.
90 Points Aaron Brasger The Real Review
A lovely youthful appearance in the glass. Lifted and complex aromas of blood plums, spice, graphite and anise. Full and richly-flavoured, black fruits, spice and mint-chocolate. The tannins are firm and shape the wine nicely and the mouth-feel and length are impressive.

96 Point Rated - Kim Brebach
“ Dense, profound Shiraz with a spicy nose and a glossy texture. Top red from the word GO. Rich, ripe fruit, dark chocolate and Christmas pudding spices, with some charcuterie in the background. Fine tannins on the long finish round it all off nicely. Perfect pitch, one of those reds you can enjoy now (after some airing) and keep for 20 years. Brilliant. 96 points. A genuine bargain.”
95 Point Rated - Wine Showcase Magazine
“Very attractive nose with tarry, spicy characters. It is stunning densely packed, oaky, fruit-driven style with excellent structure.”
95 Point Rated - Patrick Eckel Wine Reviewer
"A glossy, deep red in the glass with dark plum, earth and charcuterie on the nose that has a gentle nudge of spiced oak. There is a wonderful savoury, dark fruited core to the wine that is laced with dark cocoa; acidity gives structure and drive with a rhone like deli influence on the mid palate. Black cherry, plum and graphite frame the long, satisfying finish. A wine that will live for decades."
95 Point Rated - Sam Kim Wine Orbit
"Youthful and wonderfully perfumed, showing Black Doris plum, mulberry, tar, cedar and dark cocoa aromas on the nose. The delectably expressed palate offers velvety texture and beautifully pitched tannins, making it sumptuous and highly enjoyable. At its best: now to 2034. $30.00. www.shanahanswines.com.au. May 2021."
90 Point Rated Stuart Know The Real Review
"Deep to opaque purple core with a brightness in the rim. Plum conserve, lavender and black olive aromatics. Plum fruits and aniseed spices on entry, a soft and weighty palate that is quite textured. Good length and drive into the finish where tannins kick in and grip quite firmly. A little decanter time to soften them would be of benefit."
90 Point Rated - International Wine Competition London
“A distinctive, interesting shiraz with richly spiced plum cake, eucalyptus, marjoram, black truffle and coca powder.
