Tasting Notes:

Clare Hills Clare Valley Riesling 2022 By Pikes

Pale green/straw in appearance with typical Clare Valley Riesling characters on show, including  citrus, talc and gentle floral notes. The palate is fresh, dry and mouth filling - the well balanced acidity ensuring a crisp, dry finish.

Viking Grand Barossa Valley Chardonnay 2022

Vibrant green with a pale straw hue.Fantastic depth to its varietal expression yet still quite focused with white peach, nectarine and melon with an ever so gently touch of toasty oak.Fresh and zesty in its youth with assorted citrus notes, this is in a word an “elegant” Chardonnay. The time on lees shows up with the wonderful depth of flavour whilst the natural fruit acidity shows through on the finish whilst remaining restrained by the slightest touch of French oak to add another layer of complexity.

Bare Necessities Semillon Sauvignon Blanc 2023

Golden straw with green hints. Lifted floral aromas over a bed of citrus and tropical fruits. Rich, juicy and flavoursome with loads of citrus, tropical and melon depth, almost buttery texture and soft acidity.

Normans Holbrooks Road Pinot Grigio 2022

A delicate pale green with a light blush. Lovely soft aromas of pear and rose petals. Great textural quality in the mouth with an attractive fresh range of flavours including nectarine, nashi pear and crème caramel with almost flinty mineral notes and perfectly balanced acidity.

Normans Chais Clarendon Adelaide Hills Chardonnay 2021

Fruit for this Chardonnay was taken from premium vineyards in the Adelaide Hills, classically showcasing true regional characters of rich green apples, stone fruits and creamy oak with wonderful minerality. Vibrant and youthful at present, this wine will certainly reward with further cellaring.

Normans Old Vine Barossa Valley Semillon 2022

Florals and lemon grass along with citrus and lime perfumes. The palate is complex with almond and honeysuckle notes as well as buttery textures whilst it provides a tangy long line of acidity and cleansing finish.

Technical:

Clare Hills Clare Valley Riesling 2022 By Pikes

This wine is made from premium grapes grown amongst the rolling hills of South Australia's beautiful Calre Valley. The region is recognised globally for producing high quality, dry Riesling and this wine is no exception.

Viking Grand Barossa Valley Chardonnay 2022

The wine was crushed and de-stemmed prior to the pressing process; French oak barriques were used for fermentation. The ferment was slow and cool with several weeks of lees contact post ferment. After the wine was clarified and filtered it was bottled to retain as much fruit flavour as possible. Only 300 dozen were produced highlighting the incredible attention to detail and care taken with our small batch winemaking. Made to drink upon release while the fruit flavour is at its most fresh and vibrant, although will develop more complexity over the next couple of years for those who enjoy their Chardonnay with a touch of age.

Bare Necessities Semillon Sauvignon Blanc 2023

Fruit was sourced from select vineyards across South Australia, which stood out as producing the best quality fruit of the vintage. All fruit was machine harvested in the cool of the night or early hours of the morning to ensure the fruit was not stressed by any of the warm daytime temperatures. We crushed, chilled and fermented the juice at controlled temperatures to ensure we reflected the characters and quality of the vineyard and variety. The wine was bottled after stabilization and filtration to retain the vibrant fruit and depth of varietal flavours.

Normans Holbrooks Road Pinot Grigio 2022

Harvested at the cool of night from select vineyards located across premium cooler climate regions of South Australia. We crushed the fruit quickly to separate the clear juice from the skins. The wine went through cool fermentation then the wine was carefully filtered and bottled to retain all the appealing fruit flavours.

Normans Chais Clarendon Adelaide Hills Chardonnay 2021

Normans Wines is one of Australia’s oldest and most respected winemakers. For 160 years, since Jesse Norman planted his first vines in Adelaide,Normans has built a reputation for premium varietal wines of elegance and finesse. The Flagship wines of Normans, the Chais Clarendon range, comprise a Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz and Chardonnay.

Normans Old Vine Barossa Valley Semillon 2022

Normans Wines is one of the oldest and most respected family names in Australian winemaking. Since 1853, when Jesse Norman planted his first vines in Adelaide, Normans Wines has developed a reputation for premium award-winning Australian wines. Normans Wines is one of Australia’s founding winemakers.

The vineyard source was a single old vineyard in the Rowland Flat region of the Barossa Valley. Above average rainfall in winter made up for the drier Autumn period leading to full healthy canopies. The vineyard escaped most of the hail event in late October although yields were still lower than the average. Slow ripening due to cooler than average conditions made for a slow drawn-out vintage resulting in wines with higher natural acid and rich colours. We destemmed, settled, and fermented using specific yeasts then allowed to rest on lees for a 3-month period then filtered and bottled to retain as much luscious fruit as possible.
