The Colonial Estate Exile Barossa Valley Shiraz 2014

Ink like colour with purple edge. Alluring bouquet filled with liquorice, blackberry and dark plum fruit with layers of fennel spice and Smokey oak. Full bodied and highly concentrated fruit with a really plush texture. The fruit flavours of blackberry, dark plum all work within the framework, which is fleshy and opulent with a licorice character shining on the mid palate. There is a lovely spicy note along with subtle hint of fennel and oak. The tannins are velvety smooth which when allowed to open up and breathe illustrate the longevity possible with a long dark seductive finish which is all interwoven between a backbone of oak and tannin perfectly.

Normans Bin C287 Langhorne Creek Chardonnay 2016

Technical:

The Colonial Estate Exile Barossa Valley Shiraz 2014

The bulk of the vines are dry grown old vines, which are pruned severely and receive two runs of green harvesting finally producing one tonne to two tonnes per acre. Exile grapes are then hand picked and the grapes sorted. The wine is fermented in vats after extreme cold maceration. The wines have their malolactic in new French oak, and are thereafter in the same oak for 24 months prior to bottling with minimal filtration and then further aging in bottle.

Normans Bin C287 Langhorne Creek Chardonnay 2016

Fruit from selected vineyards on the Langhorne Creek were used in this wine. The fruit was crushed and pressed gently before being fermented in stainless steel tanks. The wine was matured in new and old oak to add a smoky complexity.

Evil Incarnate Shiraz 2016

Select parcels of fruit were selected due to their intense fruit flavour and then were picked, transported to winery, crushed immediately. The skin and juice mix is allowed to warm naturally over several days after which it begins fermentation. Fermentation is held cool which helps to retain bright primary fruit characters in the wine. Following ferment, the wines are carefully pressed, separating them from the skins. The wine is then run down to oak barrels for maturation, before being blended, filtered and then finally bottled.

1838 Reserve McLaren Vale Shiraz 2016

Fruit was sourced from select vineyards in the McLaren Vale region of South Australia from another incredible vintage. The different sites allowed us to pick the fruit over a 4-week period allowing each vineyard to develop differing characters to compliment each other and also allowed us at the winery to treat the parcels individually in small ferments with longer than usual skin contact, which is always ideal. The result is an outstanding wine with obvious time and care taken with it throughout the vinification process. This wine was fermented warm and received pump overs on a daily basis during fermentation. Aged in older second and third use oak to add another level of complexity without over powering the fruit.

Establishes in 1982, Ladbroke Grove Wines remains a family owned business producing premium Coonawarra wines in limited quantities. Only 800 cases produced.

1838 Reserve McLaren Vale Sauvignon Blanc 2017

Sourced from vineyards across the McLaren Vale region of South Australia. Harvested at the cool of night before being transported to the winery then we crushed the fruit quickly to separate the clear juice from the skins. We used specific yeast for Sauvignon Blanc and after a cool fermentation the wine was carefully filtered and bottled to retain all the appealing fruit flavours.

Normans Bin C163 Langhorne Creek Shiraz 2016

Sourced from premium vineyards located in the Langhorne Creek region of South Australia. The fruit was picked over a four-week period, which ensures blending options for more complex finished wine. The individual parcels were fermented in stainless steel open top fermenters, macerated on skins for seven days before being pressed then aged with a mixture of French and American oak. The wines were allowed to spontaneously undergo malolactic fermentation and were kept in individual batches until final blending.

Normans Chandlers Hill Chardonnay 2016

The fruit was crushed and gently pressed before being fermented in stainless steel tanks. The wine was bottled under stelvin closure to retain freshness and its zesty and its zesty ripe fruit. Normans is one of the oldest and most respected names in the Australian wine industry, established 1853 by Jesse Norman. The Normans business expanded from its humble beginnings in the suburbs of Adelaide to McLaren Vale and established the Chandler Hill winery amongst some of Australia's most renowned vineyards. The Chandlers Hill Chardonnay is a wine made keeping the traditional values of the Normans family winemaking philosophy, a rich fruit driven wine that is made to drink now and to be enjoyed.
