Cannon Ball Ridge Limestone Coast Cabernet Sauvignon 2017
Intense inky purple. Dark chocolate, blackberry, vanilla and cedar nose. The palate is rich and full with black and red berry fruit dominating the front palate. Hints of Vanilla accompany the ripe and firm tannins on the long finish.
Laneway Wines Cabernet Sauvignon
Brick red with maroon core. The background use of oak adds complexity and richness to the wine without being an obvious element. The palate is of medium weight, fresh and lively with smooth supple tannins. The overall length of flavour and character show great balance and finesse between fleshy fruit, tannin and oak which are all playing a part.
Bare Necessities Cabernet Sauvignon 2017
Deep ruby red with plum hues. Red berry, plums and a touch of savoury pepper along with a slight hint of oak. A lovely fruit driven style with a rich mouth filling palate showing abundant juicy fruit falvours. Red berries and plum characters are evident with more complex capsicum savoury notes, clean tannins and soft touch of oak.
Living River Certified Organic Riverland Cabernet Sauvignon 2016
Deep Ruby red in colour. The nose is lifted and expressive, displaying mellow red fruits, a dusty herbal perfume and notes of mocha oak. Medium bodied with lovely pure black fruits. Blackcurrant, olive and mulberry flavours. The wine is generous in the mid palate before soft tannins and bright acidity carry the wine to a lingering finish.
Einzellage Seppeltsfield Barossa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2016
Deep maroon red with bright purple hues. Instantly recognizable varietal characters with lifted aromas of blackcurrant, blackberry and vanilla are accompanied by vibrant, dark berry fruits. Full bodied fleshy fruit cuts through, varietal and regional characters abound with blackcurrant, blackberry chocolate and cassis. The palate has a presence only present in high quality fruit from the finest subregion, the structure is faultless we used subtle French oak (2nd and 3rd use) to impart and integrate fruit weight, subtle tannins and its all defined with long length. Cabernet Sauvignon is a long underrated variety in the Barossa and this illustrates how good it is.
Normans Chais Clarendon McLaren Vale Cabernet Sauvignon 2017
Black squid ink, impenetrable colour. The nose shows dark fruits, dark chocolate and olive notes with rich blackcurrant and violets leading in to a richly flavoured palate. The palate shows elegance and length with dark plum and olive flavours relishing. There is a lot of complexity of flavors and mid palate richness derived from obvious highly concentrated fruit and well-balanced oak usage. The obvious finesse and length along with the finely grained yet expressive tannins in this wine shows it has great cellaring potential and could be a true treasure over the years to come.
Mawson's Limestone Coast Cabernet Sauvignon 2015
Deep crimson in colour tending to red. The 2015 Mawson’s exhibits the inviting aromatics of Satsuma plum and blackcurrant. Evocative notes of baking spices such as cinnamon and pimento give a sense of warmth and welcome. There is a real sense of place coming from the dusty and minty notes of the Australian bush. You can taste the Terra Rossa soil in the 2015 Mawson’s Cabernet. The palate is lively and bright with expressive flavours of briar and cassis. The tannins are fine and chalky giving the wine great structure without being aggressive or overbearing. This is a delightful example of Limestone Coast Cabernet.
Cannon Ball Ridge Limestone Coast Cabernet Sauvignon 2017
At Cannon Ball Ridge our winemaking approach begins with expressing the bright fruit qualities of each varietal and showcasing the distinct characteristics of the Limestone Coast region. Carefully selected grapes from our vineyard near Bordertown were gently pressed and slowly fermented. Aged with American oak for 8 months to allow the fruit aromas to develop and tannins to soften.
Bare Necessities Cabernet Sauvignon 2017
The grapes for this wine were picked in the early hours of the morning from select vineyards across Victoria to ensure temperatures were as cool as possible. Crushed to rotary fermenters the grapes were then allowed to macerate for 2 days before inoculation and fermentation. Pressed off skins 7 days later and allowed to go through the second malolactic fermentation. The wine has then had minimal handling prior to filtration for bottling.
Einzellage Seppeltsfield Barossa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2016
Sourced From One Of Barossa Valleys Most Revered Growers from a single vineyard high in the Western Barossa sub region of Seppeltsfield. Fruit was picked in early hour s of morning when temperatures were at their lowest for the day to ensure fruit remained crisp whilst being transported to winery. The grapes were destalked and placed uncrushed into small stainless steel open top fermenters. A cultured yeast was used to start fermentation and the tanks were hand plunged spending 7 days on skins at 26 degrees. The skins we gently pressed and we aged wine in 2nd and 3rd use French barriques to impart a small amount of oak but retain fleshy fruit flavours then bottled with minimal filtration and no fining.
Normans Chais Clarendon McLaren Vale Cabernet Sauvignon 2017
Hand picked then fermented in small stainless steel fermentors to maintain strong fruit flavor from skins. The wine then went into American and French oak barrels for the remainder of ferment where it spent an extended period of time to allow full flavor development and fruit and oak to balance and compliment each other.
Mawson's Limestone Coast Cabernet Sauvignon 2015
Wrattonbully is situated 300km south east of Adelaide and 30km north of Coonawarra. The average summer temperatures are ideal for growing Cabernet Sauvignon. Our vineyards are on gentle slopes with rows running predominantly east-west. The soils are well drained, and are mainly classic terra rossa of brown earth over limestone. Quintessential Cabernet Sauvignon country.
Our aim is to produce sustainable crops of intensely flavoured grapes by setting moderate crop levels and encouraging canopy growth. The wines are made in static and rotary fermenters that encourage good colour and fruit expression. The wine was matured using predominantly French oak before final blending and bottling.
Good rains in early winter replenished the soil’s moisture levels. The latter part of 2014 continued warm without being overly hot. These relatively mild conditions encouraged healthy vine growth. Top-up rains arrived across some parts of South Australia in January which freshened the vineyards for that final ripening period through to harvest. The resulting wine is fruit driven with structure and presence.
