A lovely, ruby red colour. A typical expression of this appellation with all its roundness, freshness and fruitiness. A well-balanced, appealing wine.

Baron Gauthier Bordeaux Merlot Cabernet 2014

A vibrant, ruby red colour. A subtle nose with hints of blueberry, prunes and dried fruit. Full-bodied and well textured on the palate, revealing the smooth character of the very ripe Merlot grapes. Enjoy with red meat, poultry and soft cheeses.

Rated 4 out of 5 by John from Interesting Bordeaux selection I have sampled three bottles so far, in order: 1.Noblecour 2014 2. Ch. de la Guardiere 2014, 3, Baron Gauthier 2014 All have the "lead pencil" tinge as I call the flavour and nose that says Bordeaux; all a low 12.5% alcohol, which is an advantage as long as the depth of flavour is there. This was not the case for #1 and #2. #1 was lightweight, a pleasant quaffing wine, #2 had slightly more weight, again pleasant but both were not very satisfying -- maybe I'm too used to our blockbusters of 14+%. #3 was the best so far. Still more to go so there may be pleasant surprises in store.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Garth from Bordeaux Bargain One out of the three wines, the Chateau La Graviere Cabernet Merlot, is 'Very Good'. The other two are good/average examples of the Bordeaux style - very dry, flinty, tannins, moderate fruit - lacking taste, style and substance by Australian standards. However, they are very drinkable and will arouse comment from all who imbibe.

Rated 4 out of 5 by GIMT from A Brilliant Box of Bordeaux Beauties! A great mix of ruby coloured blends accompanied by sweet aromas of red fruits and wooden notes. In the mouth, the wine is both concentrated and elegant with a good ripe tannic structure. All round well-balanced wines and lively on the palate. Le bomb slightly chilled with caviar and Parma ham wrapped truffle Castello cheese.
