1x Monolith Vintners Monolithic Old Vine Barossa Valley Shiraz 2019 - 14.50% Alc
A massive all-encompassing nose but once allowed to breathe you will find this mellows. Dark plum and cranberry notes with leather saddle and earth which indicates the age whilst pepper, dark chocolate, and black currants all play a role here. The oak influence is obvious despite its age and highlights the quality of the new oak used. The palate is concentrated and straight up its no shrinking violet, offering up tremendous texture and richness with notes of dark plum, cranberry, black olive, saddle leather, alcohol and scorched earth. Brooding and densely packed, this style of wine requires decanting and time to breathe to soften prior to consuming although will be cellared prior to release the wine has the fruit, alcohol and tannin structure to ensure cellaring for many more years where it will continue to evolve.

1x Viking Odins Honour Barossa Valley Shiraz 2019 - 14.50% Alc
Dark crimson red with dark black core. Rich earthy characters with an abundance of black fruit followed by hints of chocolate, licorice, leather, black pepper and oak. This is a big traditional style of Shiraz, which we recommend is decanted and allowed to breathe prior to consuming. Black fruits are at the forefront here and an earthy character reflecting its age is also evident although freshness from the fruit and natural acid highlights its ability to age further with ease. The oak and tannin melt into the fruit and some more subtle hints of leather and just a touch of black pepper create further complexity.
2x Viking Grand Barossa Valley GSM 2021 - 14.00% Alc

95 Point Rated - Huon Hooke The Real Review
Very deep, bright, youthful purple colour; the nose is a mite subdued, reserved but latent, with some graphite and licorice touches, while the palate is very full-bodied and firmly structured, with mouth-coating, cheek-sucking tannins that bode well for its future. Loads of tannins but they're good tannins. Dense and concentrated, a terrific cellaring prospect.
95 Point Rated - Aaron Brasher The Real Review
Deep, dark and inky in the glass, opaque. Dark aromas of plum, mulberry, iodine, graphite, spice and oak. Big, rich, dark and powerful. Intensely flavoured with plum, mulberry, liqueured chocolate, sweet spice and oak. Long, layered, mouth-fillingly opulent, with great power and balance. Archetypal Barossa shiraz.
92 Point Rated - Dave Brookes Halliday Wine Companion
Deep crimson with aromas of blackberry, macerated plums, boysenberry and kirsch with hints of baking spices, dark chocolate, earth, pepper, violets, olive tapenade and chocolate-dipped cherries. Full bodied with dabs of creamy vanillin oak on the palate, tight, fine sandy tannins and a finish that trails away, showing notes of macerated summer berry fruits, spice and earth speaking truly of its regional origins.

"Wonderfully fruited and enticing, the bouquet shows black/blueberry, rich floral, vanilla, hazelnut and cocoa notes, leading to a sumptuous palate that's filled with rich fruit intensity backed by silky texture and layers of polished tannins, making it delicious and hugely appealing. At its best: now to 2040. $90.00. Feb 2024."
93 Point Rated - Ned Goodwin Master Of Wine
"An intriguing, fuller weighted wine that successfully meshes a potpourri of dried nori, violet, boysenberry and clove, suggestive of a contemporary expression of Australian shiraz, with nostalgic riffs of cocoa nib, liquorice back strap and beef bouillon. The oak, a little aggressive, needing time to nestle. Fortunately, time is something that this wine has on its side."
