Lou Miranda Estate Old Vine Barossa Valley Shiraz 2014
Rich and inky red. The nose has layers of fruit enhanced with savoury and spice notes. Red fruits, chocolate, cedar and pepper spice build an inviting bouquet. This wine has an inviting balanced palate, which is beautifully smooth. It tastes of rich luscious red fruits and the toasty oak gives structure and complexity.
Lou Miranda Estate Old Vine Barossa Valley Grenache 2015
Deep purples with vibrant indigo hue. Red fruits such as strawberry, cherry and plum with lifted violet and lavender florals. The bouquet is perfumed with subtle spice complexity. A smooth and elegant wine with inviting red fruit and blackberry sweetness on the front palate. Some gamey and savoury complexity adds length. Despite the ripe fruit and fleshy mouthfeel on entry, the wine finishes with plump velvety tannins and a lingering spice aftertaste. This wine can be enjoyed with confit duck, or venison.
Lou Miranda Estate Barossa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2014
Deep crimson red. Stewed plum and Christmas pudding aromas with oak spice nuances and minty notes. Flavours of plum follow through to palate, enhanced by forest fruits, which is perfectly matched to cigar box oak from toasted oak barrels. The balanced tannins result in a great length of flavour and a savoury finish
Lou Miranda Estate 100 Year Old Barossa Valley Shiraz Grenache 2014
Deep crimson red with vibrant Indigo hues. Ripe plum & blackberry fruits with a perfect marriage of spice notes derived from carefully selected oak. The bouquet is lifted due to the florals on the Grenache portion. A generous yet elegant wine offering balanced palate weight, length and structure. Brooding forest fruit characters are complemented by spice flavours and smooth tannins. The oak delivers persistence of flavour and length with a distinct toasty oak flavour adding depth. This wine can be enjoyed with braised lamb shanks, or beef ragout.
Lou Miranda Estate Old Vine Barossa Valley Shiraz 2014
Making wine has been a passion that has passed through three generations of Miranda’s. We are proud to introduce the family’s premium ‘old vine’ wines. These wines are a reflection of our love and dedication to wine, food and family.
The grapes for this wine are grown on the Estate vineyards in the Barossa Valley. Single wire trellising, low cropping level and an ideal ripening season allowed the grapes to mature to their optimum ripeness. Oak matured for 26 months. Fermented at 25 - 28c, twice daily rack and returns into open vats increases the oxygen contact during fermentation. Optimum skin contact defines the soft tannins and gives structure on the palate.
The 2014 vintage provided elegant wines with structure and balance. The superb flavours and tannins are approachable now, but will benefit from cellaring if desired. This wine can be enjoyed with chargrilled ribeye, or aged cheddar cheeses.
Lou Miranda Estate Old Vine Barossa Valley Grenache 2015
The fruit is carefully selected and hand-picked from Old Barossa Valley vines, and typify the generous varietal characters of the Barossa. Only small open fermenters and gentle handling of the fruit are used to process the grapes to ensure quality from vine to bottle. The best seasoned oak is used to preserve primary fruit flavour. A small portion is un-oaked to enhance vibrancy.
