Complex bouquet of red fruits, raisins and clear hints of marasca cherry. In the mouth it develops all its arrogance, its body is captivating, mature and enhanced especially by its aging in barrique. Primitivo Appassimento Rinforzato is a wine which remains in your memory for its strong character and great personality.

A skilled blend of grapes grown in central Tuscany, Selvato is a red win with a bright and intense colour. In the glass it give off fruity aromas with floral hints of wild and intense colour. On the palate it is soft, round with soft tannin and a long finish with notes of dried plum and cocoa. An Elegant wine.

A full red with amaranth reflections; an intense, exclusive bouquet with well-defined notes of vanilla and leather, typical of raised oak. To the palate it is full bodied and with excellent structure. Remarkably harmonious, in spite of its impressive tannin.

Its style has been defined and refined step by step by the three senior Winemakers of Giordano Vini who have passionately dedicated the last years to study the noble Primitivo vine variety. Their aim was to create an important wine, traditional yet innovative, by removing its harshness as much as possible in order to get a strong structure but without asperity. With 2015 grape harvest they nally achieved their aim. Ripe grapes of the prestigious Primitivo vine variety have not been harvested. They were left on the vine so that their ripening could go on.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Rednip from Giordano Mixed Reds Have tried one of each of the three reds (rated 94,95,99). Very drinkable, but rating 99 a bit of a stretch cf Halliday scale. Good value package. Be prepared for sweeter wine than Australian reds offer. Still, some soft tannin/acid finish though.

It opened with a delightful rose petal taste that at first I thought a little sweet, but then it grew on me. It finished satisfyingly dry and left a nice clean taste in the mouth. Bought a dozen of this!!! Not enamoured of the Primitive Puglia. It tasted a bit too sweet and lolly-ish. Of the others, we really liked the Toscana Rosso Selvato Great way to try the Italians :-)
