Tasting Notes:

Intense Dark cherry red with crimson red hues. The cherry and perfumed rose petal florals. Rhubarb with a hint of white pepper add a supporting and complex component. The Grenache provides softness and sweet lolly fruit, Shiraz rich plum and mid palate weight, whilst Mataro the mineral and dark berry fruit. The tannins are soft and chalky.

Technical:

Selected from high pedigree vineyards in the Barossa Valley harvested separately and picked when the fruit flavours and tannin profile were at their optimum to produce rich and intense wines. For 7 days the fermenting must was pumped over twice daily to extract flavour, colour and tannins. Gentle pressing followed with maturation in a combination of new and seasoned French oak.

Accolades & Awards:

95 Point Rated - Wine Pilot

"Still bright crimson in colour, just not showing its age at all. This is supple and plush and soft and approachable. We have notes of chocolate, leather, animal skins, tobacco leaves, licorice and dry herbs. Good complexity evident already. The wine picks up even more on the palate. Richly flavoured, balanced and with excellent length. Fine tannins and a seductive texture. This still has a good ten years ahead of it. Shows how good this vintage always was. Cracking wine, cracking value."
