Pale yellow. Subtle notes of lemon curd complement delicate aromatics of grapefruit and nectarine. A fresh and elegant wine with pure fruit flavours of nectarine enhanced by crisp citrus acidity and a long, dry finish.
Select parcels of fruit were sourced from the iconic cool climate region of the Adelaide Hills for this limited edition wine. The fruit was handpicked during the cool early hours of the morning. The fruit was then rapidly transported to the winery and immediately crushed, chilled and pressed. It is then allowed to settle before being racked off of juice lees, warmed and inoculated with selected dried wine yeasts.
Art and wine have been synonymous with culture throughout the centuries. Just as wine comes to life in a wooden barrel or a painting on a timber easel, renowned Australian artist David Hart and Normans Wines have collaborated over 100 years of family heritage and skill to create the ultimate masterpiece.
Masterfully created wines with superb artwork that fully over deliver for this price. Usually retailing through Normans Wines for up to $19.99 a bottle, we have them exclusively at Get Wines Direct!
David Hart's Dragonfly series is quite different to the dragonflies painted by Pro Hart. David uses a plastic polymer as the background which has a shiny finish. He builds the insect with lots of levels of glazing which are rubbed away to allow light to emerge from the darkness. David uses shadowing to create the illusion that the dragonfly is floating on top of its canvas.
Regardless of the motivation behind the Dragonfly series and the continual evolution of style and technique, they will remain among the most identifiable of David Hart's work.
Fermentation occurred in stainless steel tanks of various sizes at 12-18 degrees. A small proportion of the wine (5%) is fermented in oak barrels to add a touch of complexity and texture to the wine. The finished parcels are carefully assessed, with only the finest chosen for the final blend prior to bottling.
CELLARING: Made to drink upon release while the fruit flavour is at its most fresh and vibrant although will develop more character over the short term.
