The Mount Bold McLaren Vale Cabernet Sauvignon 2018 is a beautifully matured, back-vintage release from one of South Australia’s most renowned wine regions. Pouring a bright to deep crimson red, this Cabernet showcases the classic varietal power and elegance expected from McLaren Vale, now further enhanced by bottle age.

On the nose, it opens with layered aromas of dark berry fruits, subtle vanilla oak, and hints of spice, earth, and cocoa. The palate is medium-bodied, with rich, smooth flavours of blackberry, dark plum, and distinct cassis—a hallmark of true Cabernet Sauvignon. The rounded velvety tannins integrate seamlessly with the underlying notes of oak and spice, delivering a wine of complexity, softness, and lingering depth.

Awarded an impressive 95 Points by Winestate Magazine, this back-vintage wine is drinking beautifully now and represents exceptional value in a limited clearance release offered well below cost.

Perfect for pairing with roast lamb with rosemary, beef ragu, mature cheeses, or a portobello mushroom burger, this wine has the structure and finesse to elevate any hearty dish.

Technical:

Sourced from selected growers in McLaren Vale region of South Australia. The wine was fermented in stainless steel fermenters to retain concentrated fruit flavours. To complete the fermentation process and maturation the wine went into older oak barrels for a period of 12 months. The older oak used enabled the slow infiltration of the highly concentrated fruit flavour creating a well-balanced, yet complex structure designed to ensure longevity of the fruit.
